Sarah is warm, patient and incredibly knowledgeable in a variety of social/emotional strategies that she implements in such a useful way. Our 5 year old daughter benefited immensely from a social skills group that was Sarah’s design. Watching Sarah run this group of extremely high needs kids was like watching a masters class in adhd tools and strategies. As a veteran elementary teacher, I took away several ideas to add to my tool kit for classroom management and to use at home with our daughters. I would text teacher friends after class to share the cool strategies Sarah was employing. We drove from Mukilteo to see Sarah and it was worth every minute stuck in 405 traffic! I cannot give her praise high enough to show how much we appreciate her, but hopefully this review is a start. Our son has many difficulties and probably not easy client, to be honest. She stayed positive during difficult times and creative to solve issues. My son, born with some serious genetic challenges, has had an army of individuals to help him succeed. To be honest, Sarah has always been (and continues to be) at the forefront. She knows what he needed, knows how to connect with him (and me), and knows how to push him to want more on his own to develop his independence. In my long, and complicated, journey with my son...he's starting in-person college in a week, something I couldn't have imagined back in those days. Sarah is top-of-the-list of people supporting him (and me). We were introduced to Sarah in my son's early years, but she's become family given her skills and passion for what she does and her continued connection to my son (and myself). Bottom line, whatever she does and whomever she engages with, their lives will be changed for the positive, forever. The true measurement of success, especially with a child of different needs, is to no longer having that need for services. When my son "graduated" with his IEP/504 no longer needed OT services, it was because of Sarah. While me and my son miss Sarah on the regular, she's done her job exceptionally. She still checks in, still reaches out, and continues to be a part of the "army" that has gotten my son to be in the amazing place that he's in. I know she can do it for you and your child.
